“Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition” Will Open Grandly Tomorrow

The highly anticipated “Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition” (hereafter referred to as “Macao 2026”) will officially open on 26 June, 2026. The exhibition is co-organized by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and Macao Philatelic Association, under the patronage of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) and the auspices of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately. Running for six consecutive days at Cotai Expo Hall A of The Venetian Macao, the exhibition warmly welcomes stamp enthusiasts from home and abroad, as well as local residents and tourists.
The exhibition marks the first world-class philatelic exhibition hosted by Macao. Coinciding with the centenary of FIP, the joint celebration of these two major events holds extraordinary significance. The exhibition brings together exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions worldwide, with around 1,500 frames of stamp exhibits on display. Over 40 sales booths are set up on-site, bringing together postal administrations, experienced stamp dealers, and security stamp printers from around the globe for this grand philatelic feast.
The exhibition features two special thematic areas: the “Treasure Gallery” and the “Macao Philatelic Original Designs Exhibition”. Among them, the China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum has loaned several of its most precious collections, offering visitors a rare chance to admire these iconic stamps up close. The exhibits include the “Small Dragon Stamps with Clean-cut Perforation” and the “3rd to 5th Express Letter Stamp Issue” of the Qing Dynasty. A wealth of masterpiece collections from the People’s Republic of China are also displayed, including the “Regular Stamps with Design of Tian’anmen (5th Print)”, “National Emblem” original stamp design and “Stage Art of Mei Lanfang” imperforate stamps and souvenir sheet.
The Chinese zodiac stamp section within the “Treasure Gallery” is another major highlight. As China’s first zodiac-dedicated stamp, the stamps and original design of the 1980 “Geng-Shen Year” (Year of the Monkey) make a stunning appearance. Also on display are the stamps and engraving plate of the 1990 “Geng-Wu Year” (Year of the Horse), as well as a full range of horse-themed zodiac stamps from different years. These works vividly present the artistic evolution and cultural heritage of Chinese zodiac stamps over decades.
Meanwhile, the exhibition area showcases a selected collection of Macao handover-themed philatelic products issued by China Post, including classic stamps from the series commemorating Macao’s handover to China, as well as its 10th and 20th anniversaries. Complementing these are over 60 sets of philatelic products issued by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, including their design manuscripts, presented in the “Macao Philatelic Original Designs Exhibition”. These miniature stamps record the footprints of the era and demonstrate Macao's prosperity and development since its return, making this an unmissable highlight of the exhibition.
During the exhibition, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue three sets of philatelic products on three separate days:
● 26 June - The “Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition” (Label Stamp) will be issued. Inspired by the majestic horse, the design depicts a mare and her foal walking together, conveying a warm image of the continuity of life, symbolizing the enduring legacy and thriving vitality of stamp collecting culture.
● 27 June - The “Macao 2026 Special World Stamp Exhibition - A Journey through Day and Night II” will be issued. Utilizing the traditional Chinese twelve two-hour periods (shichens) as the main theme, it captures the streetscapes and cityscape of Macao. The stamp set, combined with the “A Journey through Day and Night I” issued in March this year, forms a special 12-stamp sheetlet sold as a gift set, offering immense collectible value.
● 28 June – The “Macau Street Art” will be issued. It showcases the city’s vibrant urban trends and diverse charm through street graffiti. Graffiti-themed workshops will also be held at the exhibition venue, offering a fun and interactive experience.
The exhibition includes six themed days: Stamp Day, Postcard Day, Art Day, Youth Day, Collection Day, and FIP Centenary Day. Commemorative envelopes and postcards will be distributed free of charge, and commemorative postmark cancellation as well as on-site mailing services will be available. In addition, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will launch a variety of exhibition-exclusive merchandise items, including plush toy blind boxes featuring the mascot “Tong Tong”, laptop sleeves and incense holders. Exquisitely designed, these items are both practical and valuable for collection.
In addition to the special thematic areas and issuance of philatelic products, multiple thematic seminars, engaging workshops, and lucky draws will be held daily on-site. The venue is equipped with a DIY postcard vending machine and several stamp vending machines, and also offers personalized stamp printing service, enabling visitors to create their own exclusive philatelic items and fully immerse themselves in the joy of stamp collecting.
